Check it out! Our friends at the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health’s (NPWH) have just dropped the inaugural episode of their “Her Health Matters” podcast — available wherever you get your podcasts.
In that first episode, host Heather Maurer chats with Dr. Komkwuan Paruchabutr, president of NPWH’s board of directors about Dr. Paruchabutr’s journey to becoming a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, and what makes WHNPs so critical. They also discuss the important changes — personal and systemic — that need to be made to advance women’s and gender-related health care.
At Revelation Pharma we appreciate NPWH’s message so much, we’ve sponsored that first episode. Listen
What is your current role and how long have you been in it?
I started working for Stanley Specialty Pharmacy in September 2012. So, this year will make 12 years. I am currently serving as General Manager.
I started at Stanley as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the compounding lab. I attended my first sterile compounding training course in 2014 and began working in the cleanroom. I was promoted to Lab Supervisor in 2016, attended my second sterile compounding course in 2017, received my Certified Sterile Pharmacy Technician license in 2018, and was then promoted to General Manager in 2020.
Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
Ohio State Senator Kent Smith, minority whip and longtime legislator, paid a visit to Lee Silsby Compounding Pharmacy in late April. Prior to his visit, Smith had a limited background on the world of compounding. Steven Dufala, general manager and pharmacist-in-charge, kicked off the tour with a brief explanation of what compounding is and the patients we serve.
While walking through our state-of-the-art facility, Nancy Fingerhut, director of quality assurance and regulatory affairs, took the time to explain the various measures we have in place to ensure quality and safety. She brought up the significant impact
Florida Representative Shane Abbott paid a visit to Revelation Pharma family member Everwell Specialty Pharmacy in Pensacola, Fla., where he had a dynamic conversation on pharmacy compounding, regulatory reform, and the hurdles confronting patients and pharmacists alike. Notably, Representative Abbott stands out as one of only two pharmacists serving in the Florida legislature; he also owns a pharmacy on the Florida panhandle.
A staunch advocate for healthcare affordability and transparency, Representative Abbott shared invaluable insights on key legislative endeavors aimed at tackling pressing issues
